Now THIS is what I call a Saturday night!

Meine Hausaufgaben! Es ist ausgezeichnet! Das ist mein Wörterbuch und mein Heft. Ich leibe meinen Deutschkurs!

Whoa, how did this happen?

So, this is me on Wednesday, November 8th. Tuesday morning I noticed the right side of my face was swelling a little bit. By the time I went to work I realized a trip to the dentist would be advantageous. I find out after a few x-rays and some poking and prodding that I have an abscessed tooth. WHAT? I've never had a cavity before. "Root canal?" "Save the tooth?" Huh?? Bad news and my teeth don't go together. The only problem I've ever had with my teeth was that they weren't straight (fixed that in high school). The worst part? MY TOOTH DOES NOT HURT! Well, as you can see in the picture, the left side of my face is significantly larger than the right. Looks like I had a stroke, or a stiff jab to the mouth. But the swelling has gone down and I am not roaming the halls of LCCC full of percocet (notice the glazed over look in my eyes). "It may go away, but the infection will most likely come back." I guess this isn't the last of the fight for my perfectly healthy, "virgin" teeth.

I love nerds

...Peter Sagal, host of NPR show "Wait, Wait, Don't Tell Me" and my boyfriend, Kenny

It's ok, don't be offended. I have a strange attraction to nerds. The odd thing is that my boyfriend isn't one. See above. I guess there isn't much more to say about this...

I now HATE the letter D

You know, my name starts with a "D" and my 3 favorite bands' names start with the letter "D" as well: Dave Matthews Band, Depeche Mode, Duran Duran.

Today I received my first two ancient civilization tests back, one was 63% and the other 68%. Are you kidding???!?!?!?! Me, "D's" in HISTORY? What the hell is going on here?? I wanted to shoot someone. Not me, or my professor. I don't know who. I am so angry-at myself.

If I were a brain surgeon or a rocket scientist

I would start conversations that would lead someone to ask me if I happened to be one. It would be very funny. Only to me I'm sure.

I should be studying ancient Greece right now, since I have a test tomorrow morning, but what am I doing? Listening to Wait, Wait...Don't Tell Me! A very funny radio show on NPR. Oh, and I work at 3pm and it's now 2:10pm. This should be called Confessions of The Procrastinator.

Democracy Now! Tour to stop in Cleveland tomorrow night and I'm excited

So after browsing through their website about a month ago, www.democracynow.org, seeing Amy Goodman on The Colbert Report promoting her new book Static: Government Liars, Media Cheerleaders and the People Who Fight Back and THEN receiving an e-mail from DN about the 10th anniversary/book promo tour going on and stopping in Cleveland, I finally picked up the book Static and started reading it today. VERY interesting. It's scary how unaware and misinformed the general population is in this country. But I plan on educating myself. I'm doing it now. I'll have details of the book tour later.
